You know something needs to shift. The answer isn’t obvious, and the organisation is starting to feel stuck.
I work one-to-one with CEOs and senior leaders in nonprofits on the difficult strategic, organisational and leadership issues that don’t come with obvious answers.
We get clear on what needs your attention most, figure out how to handle it, and build momentum towards where you want your organisation to go.
But I don’t think you should have to decide whether to work with me based on a website.
Experience it first.
Apply for a free 60-minute session. Bring a real issue you’re dealing with and we’ll work on it properly.
This isn’t a discovery call. I won’t spend the hour selling you, and I won’t hold back the useful stuff until you become a client.
What you experience in that session is what working with me is actually like.

You might be dealing with...
A strategy question that doesn’t have an obvious answer. Should we grow? Where should we focus? What should this organisation look like over the next five years?
An organisation that has grown quickly and is now feeling the strain. It’s harder to find the right people, managers are stretched, teams aren’t working as well as they should, and things that used to be simple are getting harder.
A board, team or stakeholder you need to influence. You know where you want to go, but you’re not yet sure how to bring other people with you.
A people issue that keeps dragging on and consuming more of your attention than it should.
A good idea you want to get off the ground, but you’re not clear on the pathway from idea to action.
An opportunity you can see, but you haven’t yet worked out how your organisation should respond.
Or a difficult issue that keeps coming back onto your desk because nobody has quite worked out what to do with it.
These are the kinds of things we can work on together.
Why I’m doing it this way
I’ve spent most of the past 20 years working in a sector built on relationships.
People call me to pick my brain. We have a coffee. Someone rings because they’re wrestling with something. A conversation starts with one issue and ends up somewhere completely different.
I value that.
And I don’t want those relationships to change because I now offer coaching and strategic advisory.
I don’t want someone to hesitate before calling me because they think I’m going to try to turn the conversation into a sale. And I don’t want every new relationship I build to carry an undertone of me wondering whether that person might become a client.
So I’m drawing a pretty simple line.
I’m not going to sell you coaching.
If you’re curious about working with me, have a look at the offer and apply for a free session.
If I think I can genuinely help, we’ll spend a full 60 minutes working on a real issue you’re dealing with.
I won’t hold anything back.
At the end, I’ll ask you whether you want to keep working together. You can say yes or no.
I’ll make the same decision from my side.
If we both think there’s a fit, we keep going.
If we don’t, that’s completely fine. You still leave with whatever we worked through together.
You don’t need to be sold. You can experience the work and make up your own mind.
How we’ll approach the work
Most difficult leadership problems look different on the surface, but we’ll keep coming back to four things.
Perspective - What is really going on?
What are we seeing clearly, and what might we be missing?
Are we solving the right problem?
Sometimes what looks like a people problem is really about structure, accountability or leadership. What looks like an implementation problem might actually be a strategy problem.
Changing the perspective can change the problem we think we need to solve.
Purpose - What really matters here?
What are you trying to achieve, and why does it matter?
What should guide the decisions and trade-offs ahead?
When there are competing pressures, priorities and stakeholders, purpose gives us something to organise around.
Possibility - What could different actually look like?
If this problem were resolved, the opportunity realised or the organisation moved forward, what would we see?
What would be happening differently? What would people be doing differently? What would have become possible?
We’ll make the desired future concrete enough that we’re not simply trying to move away from a problem. We know what we’re trying to move towards.
Pathfinding - How do we get from where we are now to where we want to be?
What needs to happen first?
What can you influence or control?
What decisions need to be made, who needs to move, and where should you put your attention?
We’ll turn the desired future into a practical path forward and start creating movement.
It isn’t a rigid four-step process, and we won’t necessarily move through these things neatly or in order.
They’re four lenses we can keep returning to as we work through difficult issues and find a way forward.
What working together looks like
If we decide to continue after the initial session, we’ll work together for three months.
We’ll start by getting clear on what’s really going on, identifying the issues that matter most and building a practical game plan.
We’ll also look for an early win so you can start creating momentum quickly.
From there, our weekly sessions are about moving things forward. We’ll look at what’s working, what’s getting in the way, the decisions you need to make and what needs to happen next.
Every engagement will look different because the work is built around you, your organisation and the issues you’re dealing with.
Between sessions, you’ll have email access to me. When it’s useful, I might also send you a tool, framework, article or resource that helps with whatever we’re working through.
The three-month engagement includes:
One one-to-one session each week, up to 60 minutes
Email access between sessions
Tools, frameworks and resources where they’re useful
Three months focused on the issues that matter most to you and your organisation
Who this is for
This is for CEOs and senior executives working in nonprofits and human services who are responsible for significant organisational decisions and have enough influence to do something about them.
It’s particularly suited to leaders dealing with questions around strategy, growth, organisational performance, people, influence, implementation or major opportunities and challenges facing their organisation.
This probably isn’t the right fit if you’re looking for someone to write the report or do the work for you.
It’s also not designed for people looking for life coaching or career planning, people who don’t have enough influence over the issue to act on it, or leaders working primarily in the private or commercial sector.
Why work with me?
I’ve spent the past 20 years in leadership roles across human services and government, advising boards, executives, government and community-controlled organisations, including as Senior Adviser to the Queensland Treasurer.
Across those roles, I’ve often been the person people come to when the problem is difficult, strategic or unclear.
My strength is being able to see both the bigger picture and the practical steps needed to move things forward.
I also have postgraduate qualifications in Training and Development and Human Resource Development.
More than anything, I genuinely enjoy helping people think.
I light up when I see the moment something falls into place for someone and they become more confident about what they need to do next.
What I want you to get from the three months
By the end of the engagement, I want you to be clearer about the issues that matter most, have a practical game plan for dealing with them, and have built real momentum.
You should feel like progress has been made, that it is continuing to be made, and that you’re putting your energy into the things that are actually within your control and can make a real difference to your organisation.
Investment
If we both decide after the initial session that we want to continue:
$2,000 per month for three months, paid monthly in advance.
The initial 60-minute session is free.
There is no obligation to continue afterwards.
The point is simple: experience the work first, then make up your own mind.
Work with me
I’m initially taking on up to 10 new one-to-one clients.
The first step is to apply for a free 60-minute session.
The application is deliberately short. I’ll ask for:
Your name
Organisation
Role
Email
Phone number
How you heard about me
What are the main reasons you’re reaching out right now?
If working together went really well, what would you hope was different three months from now?
I’ll review your application personally and if I think I can genuinely help, I’ll invite you to book a 60-minute session with me.
Bring something real.
We’ll work on it.
Then we can both decide whether we want to keep going.
If I reach capacity, I’ll let you know and give you the option to wait for the next available place.
